If you are looking for a change in leadership on our local Village Council, welcome to Marvin United! We are a team of four candidates running to be your next mayor and council members to help preserve and protect the Village of Marvin we know and love.
The candidates:
- Joseph Barbara - Mayor
- Tom Eck - Village Council
- Fred Ilarraza - Village Council
- Angel Martin - Village Council
Our platform is simple:
- Keep Taxes Low
Marvin’s tax rate is one of the things that makes it special—and that should be protected. - We all voted No on the GO Bonds last year. We don't believe spending money on unnecessary things the majority aren't interested in funding makes any sense.
- Protect and Strengthen Our Ordinances
Zoning ordinances should be respected. Variances should not be handed out like candy. Council and staff work for the residents—not for developers. - Master Plan & Land Use Review
It's time to revisit and update Marvin’s Master Plan and Land Use Plan to ensure they align with residents' values and long-term vision. - Fiscal Responsibility – DOGE Spending
We must Diligently Oversee Government Expenditures (DOGE) to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. - Restore Neighborly Spirit
There’s too much tension between residents and council. Lawsuits should be a last resort. People want to be heard—and we are ready to listen. - Slow, thoughtful growth
- Transparency in government decisions
